Day 01 - Introduction

ethanmarsLately, I've been seeing this questionnaire spring up on a few journals, and it's got me to thinking. There's so much about myself that I can't sort out, and maybe taking the time to reflect would do me some good.
Day 01 - Introduction
An introduction.. I'm not quite sure where to start. My name is Ethan, I'm 34 years old, and I'm an architect. Well, more than that I'm a father. No matter what else happens in my life, my son is and always will be the most important thing to me. His name is Shaun, and I love him more than anything. I really don't know where I'd be without him. A lot of things have happened over the past few years, but I'm becoming stronger because of it all. It's not always easy, though. Norman, my boyfriend, does a great deal to help both me and my son, though I guess we all have our moments.
Boy, this is turning out to be more depressing than I thought. My life's not all gloom and doom, far from it. I'm happy for what I have, and each day is a bright new day to continue living.
As far as my life goes outside of that, I'm quite happy with what I do. Architecture has always been an interest of mine, for as long as I can remember. I've had a bit of a hard time being more adventurous with it lately, but I'm staring to get back into the habit. Sometimes it's just hard to find inspiration.
Whenever I'm not working or taking care of my son, I like to spend time outside. I'm not much for outings these days, but a leisurely stroll through the backyard or the neighborhood always brightens my mood. I guess it's not much of a hobby, but I enjoy it, anyway. I feel like it clears my head, which can be helpful more often than I'd like to admit.
I guess I should talk about my relationships a bit more, too. I'm.. divorced, and have been for the past year. It's been rough, but I think in the end it was for the best. My ex-wife and I had a lot of baggage that we just couldn't shake, and it was making a terrible environment not only for ourselves, but for our son. Sometimes it feels like Shaun is more mature than me or his mother about these types of things, in all honesty. I mentioned Norman a little bit earlier too, I think. He's a sweetheart, hands down. He's had to do a bit of adjusting since we got together, but he really enjoys doing whatever he can to accommodate Shaun and I. He's a very important part of my life too, and I don't know where I'd be without him either.
I'm not quite sure what else I should say. This is coming out like a little biography, isn't it? I guess I'll stop here for now before I wind up answering more questions all at once.
